The ice dance of a graceful pair is stunning – and so wonderfully filmed.

Olympic Silver and Bronze Medalists Madison Hubbell and Zachary Donohue execute a moving performance routine during the 50th anniversary of ‘An Evening with Champions.’ They perform their dance to Melody Gardot’s heartbreaking song “Once I Was Loved.”

‘An Evening with Champions’ is a non-profit public charity show committed to fighting cancer by raising funds for ‘The Jimmy Fund,’ the fundraising arm of the ‘Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.’

An Evening with Champions, founded at Harvard in 1970, hosts an annual world-class figure skating exhibition. National and Olympic athletes such as Nathan Chen, Michelle Kwan, Yuna Kim, and Evan Lysacek have appeared.

Madison is dressed in a short flowery sundress, while Zachary is dressed simply in a white shirt and black jeans. Their excellent routine is beautifully designed to portray the song’s romance.

As he skates across the ice, Zachary pulls her over his head and spins her. The audience applauds and the spotlight follows them as they dance on skates in perfect sync. The remaining ice is highlighted in a vivid purple hue.

Madison climbs on Zachary’s back and rolls off while he continues to skate. Their moves are fluid and perfectly complement the melody. Madison puts her arms around Zachary’s neck and spins him around, her arms extending from his torso.

Zachary then lifts her all the way up in the air. For their last posture, they end on their knees in an embrace. It’s a fantastic performance by two amazing skaters. The audience is awestruck and lavishes the pair with loud ovation for their talent and generosity.
